How does Scout analyze a listing?
You provide a photo of the cover, a screenshot of an eBay listing, or a direct eBay URL. Scout sends the image or URL to our servers, where a vision model reads the issue, publisher, grade, and condition signals, then cross-references a rolling 90-day window of real eBay sold listings. The verdict, score, fair-market range, and risk flags are generated within seconds.
Why did Scout get the verdict wrong?
Scout is an automated tool. It can miss unlisted variants, misread grades from low-resolution photos, or lack enough sold-comp data for very rare issues. If you believe the verdict or price range is significantly off, email us with the scan details — feedback helps improve the model. For high-value purchases, always verify with a professional grader.
How do refunds work?
Scout is free with an optional Premium subscription billed through Apple. We do not process payments directly, so all refund requests go through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. Purchases of Premium are generally non-refundable once the subscription period has begun, per Apple's standard policies.
How do I cancel my Premium subscription?
Open Settings on your iPhone → tap your name → Subscriptions → select ComicScout → Cancel Subscription. Your Premium access continues until the end of the paid period. Scout will not charge you again after cancellation.
How do I delete my account and data?
From inside the app: Profile tab → Settings → Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, scan history, watchlist, and collection. See our account deletion page for the full process and an email fallback.
What data does Scout store about me?
Scout stores your Apple-issued identifier, the non-identifying records of your scans (issue, grade, verdict, score), your watchlist, and your collection. Scan images are deleted from our servers within 24 hours. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.
