Delete Account
You can permanently delete your ComicScout account and all associated data at any time. Deletion cascades across your entire account: scan history, watchlist, want list, collection, and Premium entitlement. This action cannot be undone.
Delete from the app (recommended)
Steps
Open ComicScout on your iPhone:
- Tap Profile (bottom-right tab).
- Tap Settings (gear icon, top-right).
- Scroll to Delete Account.
- Confirm deletion. You will be signed out immediately.
Delete by email (fallback)
If you cannot access the app, email hello@comicscout.co with the subject line Account Deletion Request. Include the email address associated with your Sign in with Apple (real or relay). We will process the deletion within 5 business days and confirm by reply.
What gets deleted
- Your account identifier and email address.
- Your full scan history — all verdicts, scores, and analysis records.
- Your watchlist and want list.
- Your collection and purchase-price logs.
- Your user profile and onboarding preferences.
- Your Premium subscription entitlement record. Note: canceling the App Store subscription is a separate step; see our support page. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel the subscription billing — cancel in Settings → Subscriptions first if you want to stop being charged.
What is not immediately deleted
- Diagnostic logs — retained for up to 30 days for security and abuse-prevention purposes, then deleted on schedule.
- Billing receipts — Apple transaction records that we are required to retain for tax compliance (typically 7 years). These contain no personal information beyond the subscription product identifier and transaction date.
- Aggregated, de-identified analytics — event counts that cannot be re-linked to your account are retained to measure aggregate app performance.
